International Conference on Biodiversity Conservation in the Arabian Peninsula - Sharjah 2010 3 February , 2010 |

The Event: The Environment Protected Areas Authority, Government of Sharjah is organizing the first “International Conference on Biodiversity Conservation in the Arabian Peninsula,” that wil be held in February 2010 at the American University of Sharjah. His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah will be opening the conference and Prince Hassan Bin Talal of Jordan will also be attending. The keynote speaker of the conference is Dr Simon Stuart, Chair of the IUCN Species Survival Commission. Other speakers will include Dr Fareed Krupp, Dr Mark Stanley-Price, Dr Mohammed Shobrak and Dr Shahina Ghazanfar who will be speaking on their specialist subjects, along with many other well-known local and international scientists and conservationists. By bringing together international and regional conservation specialists, the conference aims to promote opportunities to strengthen and extend the biodiversity network on the Arabian Peninsula.
