With a large number of sporting events already scheduled to take place in the UAE during the month of November 2009, Delwood the event owners and organizers of Emirates NBD’s The Legends “Rock” Dubai as part of the Outback Champions Series, competitive champions tennis tour, have taken the decision to postpone the fifth edition until 2010.
Delwood would like to assure UAE tennis fans that the event will be on the sporting calendar for 2010 and look forward to bringing yet another thrilling line up of Legends tennis stars to audiences. |

World record crowds, thrilling rugby action, entertainment second to none and an impressive new venue all ensured the 2008 Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens was an event to remember.
After 38 years at the Al Awir ground, the move to Emirates new, purpose-built venue, The Sevens, on the Al Ain Road proved to be a resounding success, with the spirit of the previous venue encapsulated in a bigger and better setting for one of the region’s greatest sporting and social events of the year.
The Sevens, which boasts six new pitches, saw over 130,000 fans streaming through its gates over the three days of the tournament. |

Dubai International Film Festival (December 12-19, 2010 (annual)) |

The seventh edition of the Dubai International Film Festival, the definitive film festival of the Arab world, Asia and Africa, will be held from December 12 to 19, 2010.
The latest edition of the film festival is being planned to showcase an even diverse selection of movies from around the world across a dozen themed segments including Arabian Nights, Gulf Voices, Cinema of the World, Cinema for Children, Cinema of AsiaAfrica, Lifetime Achievement and Cinema from India.
DIFF 2010 will feature the competitive Muhr Arab and Muhr AsiaAfrica programmes offering over US$575,000 in prize money for excellence in acting, cinematography, editing, music and scriptwriting in addition to the jury general excellence awards.
DIFF will expand its partnership with the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) this year for the annual “Prize of the International Critics” to include all three film segments - feature, shorts and documentaries - in the Muhr Arab competition.

Cirque du Soleil Dubai (Dec 2010 (annual) ) |

A partnership between Cirque du Soleil and property developer Nakheel, Cirque du Soleil Dubai brings a permanent show with original music, theatre design and costumes to The Palm Jumeirah. The inaugural show is set to take place in December 2010.
Cirque du Soleil Dubai is the only permanent Cirque du Soleil show outside the US, China and Japan. Its outstanding performances by more than 1000 artists have won the Quebec-based organisation prestigious awards, including the Emmy, Drama Desk, Bambi, ACE, Gémeaux, Félix and the Rose d'Or de Montreux.

Standard Chartered Dubai Marathon (Jan 2011 (annual)) |
Location : Dubai
Dubai's Standard Chartered Marathon follows a clockwise circuit of the city, encompassing many major landmarks. The start and finish are at the World Trade Centre, where much-needed refreshments await those who have just completed the course.
The course is flat and fast, with the only slight incline at the traverse of the Dubai Creek. Here, runners take the Shindagha Tunnel under the Creek, exiting at the Gold Souq of Deira.
The route continues in the Garhoud area of the city, crossing the Creek once again, this time via the Al-Garhoud Bridge. This is the steepest point on the course, then it's an easy run to the finish line.
A 10km run and a 3km fun run are organised alongside the main marathon.

Get ready to feel the rhythm and discover the passion of Latin America in a weekend filled with performances by some of the top artists and bands in the world, plus the opportunity to learn to salsa, tango and samba on the spot with the experts!
Highlights include an exclusive performance directly from Havana with the premier of an incredible musical live show ‘Kings Of Salsa ‘, a 22 piece Cuban professional dance group who will perform in the Middle East for the first time as a part of their world tour.
Learn the basics to salsa or tango at the Latin Open Day on 4th & 5th Feb 2011 in the Madinat Jumeriah Souk area which will be turned into a huge, alfresco dance floor. Show off your dancing moves at Fiesta Nights from 9.00pm each evening at various spectacular venues throughout the festival , alongside some of the hottest Latin dance talents including the world’s No.1 Salsa Personality- Mr Albert Torres, organizer & promoter of the Salsa World Championships and Kings of Salsa casts themselves.
