Location Map Description :Madinat Zayed Gold Souk is located 0.2 kilometre away from East Road; 0.5 kilometre away from Zayed Second Street; 0.5 kilometre away from Al Falah Street; 0.6 kilometre away from Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street; 0.7 kilometre away from Al Manhal Street; Madinat Zayed Gold Souk is geographically located at latitude (24.4824 degrees) 24° 28' 56" North of the Equator and longitude (54.3662 degrees) 54° 21' 58" East of the Prime Meridian on the Map of Abu Dhabi. The Gold Souk is in the Madina Zayed area. To get there simply flag down a cab and ask him to take to you the Madina Zayed Gold centre. The place is open from 9pm-2pm/4pm-11pm on Saturdays-Thursdays and 4pm-11pm on Fridays. Leave your cameras at home, taking snaps is not allowed. They sell gold from quite a few different countries including: Europe, Saudi, Bahran and India. You can also get yourself a Japanese pearl or silver jewelry from Oman. The different gold carats available are 24, 22, 21, 18 and 9. Shops base their prices on the daily gold market. They also charge for workmanship, the price will depend on how intricate the craftsmanship is. To get the best price shop around and do some haggling. You can also sell gold or jewelry, again make sure to try a few places and banter to get your money's worth. Some shops also offer watch repair and 'Noaf Jewelleries' even do name cutting. Abu Dhabi's Gold Souk is a great place to visit, whether your looking to buy or just want to get a culutual insight to Abu Dhabi. My only grumble is that it isn't as nice as the old gold Souk which was more authentic, but sadly it burnt down. |
